I. Manpower :             

The department is staffed with 61 members of which there are 5 engineers, 41 technicians and 5 part-time workers.

The Director of the Department is Mr. Tran Quang Ngoc - an engineer and the Deputy Mr. Duong Mac Tuan an engineer.

II. Development process:  

The Technical department was established at the same time with the founding of the hospital. In 1981, it was divided into 2 departments. The General Technical Department and the Medical Technical Department.

 III. Assignments:  

The department works as an advisory body to the Hospital Board in management, maintenance, operation and reparation of all machinery and equipment of the hospital (excluding medical technical equipment).

     IV. Achievements:      

The department has been keeping all general technical equipment in good condition. All the work on installation, operation, maintenance and repair has been done regularly and perfectly in close cooperation with Swedish advisors and concerned institutions and other hospitals.

Much attention has been paid to staff training and refresh training to improve their skills so as to meet the demands of medical activities in the hospital.
