I. Staffing:  

The department employs 26 staff members including 01 master of science, 6 doctors, 16 nurses and 3 nurse-aids.

II. Development process:

The department was established together with the founding of the hospital in 1969 as part of the surgical department. Ụn 1998, it was spitted off the surgical department and ever since it has become the operating department of anesthesia and resuscitation. Dr. Nguyen Quang Ựng is now the director of the department. His predecessors were Dr. Nguyen Kim Quy and Dr. Trinh Ngoc Tu retrospectively.

III. Activities:

The department is accountable for pediatric anesthesia of all gerations performed in the hospital. The department assumes the role of the anesthetic professional in the pediatric ambulatory activities. Ụt has been closely cooperating with the Anesthesia Faculty of Hanoi Medical College in training anesthetists of all degrees.

The department has been cooperating fruitfully with Melbourne Royal Children's Hospital Australia, Project Vietnam and ẶBỤS of America.

The department will soon perform anesthesia in open-heart operations and kidney transplantation.
