I. Staffing :             

The department is staffed with 18 members of which there are 4 doctors, 8 nurses, 3 lecturers, one Psychologist and 2 nurse – aids.

II. Development process:  

In 1983 the department was established as a Unit sharing premise and operation with the neurology Unit.

In 1993 the department of Psychiatry was splitted and formally formed. The department was then headed by Ph.D Hoang Cam Tu and now Master Quach Thuy Minh.

 III. Activities:  

The Department has 20 inpatient beds and its annual admission is about 2000-3000 patients with mental, emotional and personality disorders

The department assumes the role to carry out diagnosis and treatment such patients using psychotherapy, EEG, Chemo-Pharmatherapy in combination.

The department has been in close cooperation with Australian Royal children’s Hospital of Melbourn, Bicetre Hospital of Pans in France and others on various psychiatry subject.
