I. Staffing :             

The department is staffed with 26 members including 2 part-time wokers. There is one Ph. D, 3 doctors, one nursing graduate, 15 nurses and 5 nurse – aids. The department is headed by Dr Pham Thi Suu

II. Development process:  

The department was established in 1981

1981-1991: Dr Tran Van Luan Ph.D

1992-1996: Dr Nguyen Thu Van

Since 1996: Dr Pham Thi Suu

 III. Activities:  

The Department is an infection clinic with 80 beds. Treatment of children with various infectious diseases such as chicken pox, diphtheria, tetanus, Septicemia, typhoid fever, hepatitis, whooping cough, encephalitis, meningitis, hemorrhage fever, HIV/Aids, poliomyelitis etc ….

The department has been in close cooperation with the international vaccine Institute, Japan and Central institute of Epidemiology on such various research subject as meningitis due to Hemophilus Influenza Type B in children and control of measles, poliomyelitis and etiology of septicemia etc ….
