The National Hospital of Pediatrics, in cooperation with the US Stryker Firm, held a workshop on Neurological and Spinal Surgery using Navigation on May 6th, 2008. Participants were neurologists and neuro-surgeons of the NHP and other hospitals in Vietnam and abroad. Doctor Santosh Prabhu, a leading neuro-surgeon of India gave is lecture on methods of conducting navigation in neuro-surgery. The participants were watching a neurological operation from the Operation Theatre of the NHP.

Delivering the opening speech at the seminar, Professor Nguyen Thanh Liem, Director of the NHP and Director of NHP Surgical Department laid emphasis on the usefulness of Navigation especially in operations on sinus, spinal column, cerebral tumor, cerebral vascular deformity, epilepsy, and orthopedics.

According to Doctor M.S Nguyen Kim Chung, Deputy Director of the Neuro-Surgical department of Cho Ray General Hospital, only major medical centres in Vietnam are able to introduce Navigation now. He also expressed his hope that the NHP would make the best use of Navigation in the treatment of childhood diseases in Vietnam.
